I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a double major in Finance and Marketing. I wasn't sure where I wanted to focus on professionally after graduation, but had recently completed a program with the Institute of Entrepreneurial Excellence here in Pittsburgh. I got a lot of experience working with small business owners and really found that to be my passion. I knew I wanted to support small businesses, but how? I began brainstorming different business ideas that would allow me to attract clients of all industry types + all business sizes. I quickly landed on the concept of Responsival. Its mission was to help improve a business's digital presence through web design + marketing. I always had an interest in design, but the world of web was brand new to me, so I did what any hungry entrepreneur would do; at 21 years old, I slept on friends' sofas, snuck on Pittsburgh Public Transit daily, and lived off Little Ceasar's Pizzas while I built Responsival from the ground up -- all while I figured out how to build relationships, develop websites, sell product, market, and help businesses across the country. Luckily, I've been fortunate enough to attract individuals who are way better than me at doing all of those things.
This is a tough one. I've had so many great experiences with so many amazing clients. I'd say a recent favorite of mine is Day Owl. We were brought on for eCommerce strategy and development for their new Shopify store. Their team was so much fun to work with. They were willing to let us bend Shopify to introduce new functionalities that are not typically possible on the platform. Having the runway and thumbs up to "break" and "fix" the biggest eCommerce platform in the world was really validating. Since then, we've expanded our relationship with them as we help with every area of their marketing. Cookie DŌ is also a project I will hold near and dear.
The idea of building nothing into something is always what got me out of bed in the morning. It's amazing to see what Resposival has been able to accomplish, especially when I think back to its early years. Sometimes I'm so focused on work and projects that I forget to look up and see the amazing things we've done as an ever-growing team. Whenever I get burnt out, I look up and get more inspired than ever.
I hang out with my girlfriend, our dogs, and my friends. I love traveling.
What's a hotdog? In Philly, we eat cheesesteaks and riot when the Eagles win the Super Bowl. Go birds!
